I just love Carrie + Jon’s positive attitude and infectious sense of humor! It’s obvious they have a lot of fun together, and a great mutual respect for each other and their faith. We got to know a lot more when we met them at Mt. Soledad and La Jolla for their love session, and then shared a few margaritas afterwards. 🙂 There we learned that Carrie is actually quite the singer and she shared her surprise proposal story with us here…

“Jon proposed on Zuma Beach in Malibu, CA, the night before a big triathlon we were competing in the next day. We were walking along the beach before dinner, and we started picking up shells. He started putting them in his pocket. At one point as we were heading back to the restaurant where we were meeting his parents for dinner, he got down on both knees in the sand, and said “let’s see what we’ve got”, and started pulling the shells out. He was like, “do you want to keep this one? How about this one? And this one?” And then he pulled out the ring box and said “how about this one?”  And I started crying. Haha Then we went to dinner and my parents were there!! He had arranged for my parents to fly in from Iowa!! We spent the whole weekend with our families; they got to watch us race and celebrate with us later that day at the Malibu Family Winery and at dinners. It was awesome. ”
