Lourdes and James met in 2009 just steps from the beach in San Diego. A chance encounter that started with small banter and led to a first date. One evening Lourdes made dinner plans with a close friend, Sady Schwarts. They met at Sady’s hair salon. When Lourdes arrived Sady was with her client James. James had just returned from a trip to Nicaragua and Lourdes was intrigued. Lourdes teased his spanish language skills and James fired back. Their chemistry was undeniable. When James left that evening Lourdes remarked, “why can’t I meet a guy like that!” It wasn’t til his next appointment that Sady played matchmaker, setting the two up on their last first date. James proposed marriage to Lourdes on a crisp California morning in Santa Barbara marina on September 7 2013. After a beautiful sail he helped her off the boat onto the wooden dock where he got on one knee and asked that age old question, “Will you marry me?”.

Their beautiful and stylish event took place at the historic La Jolla Women’s Club with all of their close friends + family!
